This is a pic of the banana bread I tested for Isa & Terry’s new book. Is was *fab* let me tell you!
Moist, rich-tasting AND not too much fat. I made it with the addition of some carob chips I had sitting around, but next time–Matt requests raisins. 😀 Check out http://www.theppk.com, if you are under a rock or something & you haven’t already :]

Hi Julie…

Re: your query about eating here in San Diego. SO MANY great places.

Here’s a little list of four vegetarian/vegan haunts that i highly recommend!

Oh, and have a blast here in SD!!!

SIPZ – in Clairemont. THE best. Has a web site as well. Check it out!!

KUNG FOOD – next to Balboa Park. GREAT food. Sometimes it’s a buffet where you buy by the pound, some night’s a sit down cafe, but i like, no i LOVE, the “burgers” at the drive thru. Fantastic cupcakes for dessert, too.

RANCHOS – there is one in Ocean Beach (i recommend that one), one nearby in Point Loma and one in North Park. Mexican food that’s healthy and hearty and wonderful. There’s a place to sit outside with birds and a jungle-y feel in OB. It’s super!

O.B. PEOPLES – co-op with a deli upstairs with incredible vegan food and desserts. Beautiful “vibe” in that place. Hippie central!
